At 120W maximum continuous-wave output power and a wavelength of 1.9µm - optimized for surgical applications - this system allow an almost unlimited range of surgical procedures. Highly efficient and safe treatment of BPS; enucleation, vaporization or vaporesection; tumor resection, surgical and even laparoscopic procedures and much, much more.

As with the 50W desktop vela® system, the optimised wavelength of 1.9µm matches a peak in the absorption spectrum of tissue (~6 times higher absorption than at 2.1µm) and yet can still be delivered through standard optical fibres. Coupled with the higher power at 120W, this now allows for even faster precision cutting with a minimal, yet well defined thermal necrosis zone.
